The second chapter of Robert Cormier’s novel „After the first death“ the beginning of assassination. The view changes between two persons: A boy named Miro, who is one of the hijackers. He and his accomplice start an assassination, which include a bus full of children. The other view is Kate, who is the bus driver.
The sixteen years old boy Miro Shantas is a hijacker in America. He is in company with a man, called Artkin, who is about thirteen and fourteen years old. The chapter opens with the two guys, who review the plan, how you don’t learn much of the plan’s details. At the beginning, you just get know that there is a bus, and that Miro hast to kill the bus driver. Everyone must know that the takeover of the bus is critical. Besides, it means to Miro to make his life meaningful. After them both and a few other assassinations had kept the bus under control, a few problems start. It begins with the bus driver: Instead of a male bus driver, it’s a young female bus driver, named Kate. That makes Miro unsure. Besides, after Artkin had handed out the candy with drugs to the children one of the children dies. That is the reason for Artkin’s order, don’t to kill the bus driver what enrage Miro.

Warum ist es im "Death Valley" so heiß?
Wieso ist es im Death Valley so heiß? z.B heißer als in Ägypten etc.hat das was mit der lage zutun?
Die große ebene Fläche ohne hoch wachsende Vegetation heizt sich stark auf, und die dabei zirkulierende Luft kann dem Tal aufgrund der enorm hohen Berge nicht entweichen. So zirkuliert sie immer innerhalb des Tales und heizt sich weiter und weiter auf.
Also, auch im Vergleich mit dem restlichen Südwesten, wirds im Death Valley normalerweise nicht recht viel heißer als in Nevada oder Arizona. Da sind Temperaturen um die 45°C im Sommer normal, auch ohne Kessellage. Die Rekordtemperaturen werden ja auch im Death Valley nur sporadisch an einzelnen Tagen erreicht.
Natürlich hat die Hitze was mit der Lage zu tun. Death Valley selber ist eine Horst & Graben Landschaft. Das Besondere an DV ist, dass es in einer "doppelten" Regenschattenlage liegt: da sind die Sierras, und dann nochmal die Panamint Range, welche den vom Westen kommenden Niederschlag einschränken. Dazu noch die Kessellage, die verhindert, dass Luft zur Seite entweichen kann. Der Sommer-Monsoon aus dem Süden schafft es nicht bis zum DV, dazu liegt es zu weit nordwestlich. Was aber nicht heißt, dass es in DV nie regnet.

hei , ich muss am montag ein referat über death valley halten, auf englisch. Ich habe mir shcon etwas aus dem Internet , rausgeschrieben. Aber vielleicht könnt ihr mir ja helfen und mir noch ein paar interessante informationen geben. Natürlich könnt ihr mir es in deutsch schicken, ich übersetze es mir dann selber ins Englsiche. ! Freue mich auf eure Antworten

Jemandem etwas auf Deutsch zu schicken und dann zu versuchen, den Text zu übersetzen, ist ein ganz schlechter Weg und nur zu empfehlen, wenn man wirklich SEHR GUT übersetzen kann . Was Du machen solltest, ist bei google.com oder bei bing oder yahoo ENGLISCH "Death Valley" einzugeben. Du wirst mehr Treffer bekommen als Dir lieb ist., natürlich auch Hunderte von Bildern, z.B. mit Google Images.

Ich möchte diesen Alternativvorschlag unterbreiten :
"The Kindom of Death = Das Reich des Todes/ Das Totenreich".
Das wäre wohl auch vielseitiger anwendbar, als nur in der Literatur.
Ebenso wie "Animals' Kingdom" schlicht übersetzt wird mit " Tierreich".
Wollte zur Beantwortung deiner Frage etwas beitragen.
